We have a 100 year old 1.5 story house. The second floor was always noticeably warmer than the first floor in the summer. We had EcoTec insulate our attic, and now the temperature difference between the first floor and second floor is hardly noticeable. It's very comfortable in the upstairs bedrooms now.
Demilec HeatLok Soy® Insulation
This biobased spray foam insulation is great for high humidity applications. HEATLOK SOY® insulation is a closed cell foam insulation designed for sustainable applications. It is made of fully recycled or renewable resources such as recycled plastic, soy and vegetable oils so that it has very little impact on the environment. It is a rigid polyurethane spray foam with R-6.9 which does not diminish over time.
HEATLOK SOY® foam insulation creates an excellent air barrier and is a great vapor retardant. It is a blown insulation utilizing HFC 245FA, which is a zero ozone depletion blowing agent and is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. The insulating spray foam is best used in environments such as pools, wine cellars, basements, and bathrooms where the average humidity is above 55%.
